We demonstrated that the expression of CryAB-WT conferred resistance to viral infection, as evidenced by reduced cytopathic effects (Figure 6A), increased cell viability (Figure 6B), decreased production of viral protein (Figure 6C & 6E), significantly lowered viral titer (∼ 20 fold reduction) (Figure 6D) in CryAB-WT-overexpressing cells. The gene discussed is CRYAB; the disease is viral infectious disease.
