Taken together, the data indicates that the siRNA-mediated silencing of Bnip3, Cav1, Gsn, Egfr and Lgals3 functions reduces the migratory and invasion capacity of RCC (Renca) cells, whereas silencing of the Pax8 or Itgb2 genes deregulates cell migration only. The gene discussed is LGALS3; the disease is renal cell carcinoma.
