Patients with diabetes and periodontal disease from group DMPaMT and group DMPPlacebo had significantly higher mean levels of IL-1β (127.73±99.50 and 122.47±95.2 ng/mL), IL-6 (0.57±0.56 and 0.56±0.007 pg/mL) and PGE2 (265.42±101.6 and 263.45±98.7 ng/mL) than healthy subjects (IL-1β (95.35±59.26 ng/mL), IL-6 (0.38±0.005 pg/mL) and PGE2 (205.71±118.09 ng/mL).
