CASP1 and myocardial infarction: In summary, our present study demonstrated that pyroptotic cell death induced by ROS-mediated NLRP3 inflammasome activation via caspase-1 activation signaling pathways may play an important role in MI/R injury in diabetic rats, and an inflammasome inhibitor or ROS scavenger (NAC) can attenuate diabetic MI/R injury.
