Interestingly, the expressions of the CDKN2A/CDKN2B/ANRIL genes have been found to be associated with atherosclerosis severity through the risk haplotype GG/GG in CAD cases.22 An increased CDKN2B expression due to the presence of the risk haplotype GG/GG influences the expression of TGF-β, which is involved in the induction of atherosclerosis. This evidence concerns the gene CDKN2B and coronary artery disorder.
