Thus, these results demonstrate the ability of IFN-γ and TNF-α to elicit a synergistic pro-inflammatory response in endothelial cells and in atherosclerotic tissues; leading to significant increases in monocyte and T-cell chemoattractants and inflammatory adhesion molecules, and support that IFN-γ and TNF-α are the principal link between active psoriasis and atherosclerosis.
