The National Comprehensive Cancer Network guideline of NSCLC recommended testing for seven biomarkers amenable to targeted therapies, including epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation, fusions in anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), c-ros oncogene 1 receptor (ROS1) and RET proto-oncogene (RET), mesenchymal–epithelial transition (MET) amplification or MET exon 14 skipping mutation, human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2) mutation, and BRAF V600E mutation, indicating the necessity of multiplex sequencing. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
