In non-cancer cells, Figueroa-Masot et al. [50] have highlighted activation of a sub-pool of N-terminal c-Jun protein kinase (JNK) in nucleus of cortical neurons and Nicolini et al. [51] have demonstrated a sustained phosphorylation of JNK in human neuroblastoma cell line after exposure to Paclitaxel. The gene discussed is MAPK8; the disease is cancer.
