These results show that the non-phosphorylable FGF1S130A protects SH-SY5Y cells from p53-dependent apoptosis, in contrast to FGF1K132E and FGF1S130D, suggesting that FGF1 phosphorylation plays a major role in inhibiting the intracrine FGF1 anti-apoptotic activity in this human neuroblastoma model. This evidence concerns the gene FGF1 and neuroblastoma.
