According to well-established studies on HFs in humans and rodents, canonical Wnt/beta-catenin signaling provides the master switch for the fate of HFs, and many molecular regulators of HF cycling, including BMPs, SOX9, SHH, VDR, NOTCH and FOXN1, have been discovered1,10–14. This evidence concerns the gene CTNNB1 and Hand-foot syndrome.
