Considering the fact that NAC improves oocyte maturationand embryo quality, and decreases the rate of immatureoocytes in women with PCOS while being a safe and welltoleratedagent, we suggest the administration of NAC asan alternative to other insulin-sensitizing agents like MET.Therefore, the present study argues that NAC possibly improvesthe oocyte quality of PCOS patients compared toMET through modulating the c-kit and GDF-9 expression, indicating that NAC supplement may be a therapeutic alternativeto the insulin-sensitizing agents in PCOS management. The gene discussed is KIT; the disease is polycystic ovary syndrome.
