Netrin-1 induces axon outgrowth (which is closely related to growth cone attraction) via one of its receptors DCC (deleted in colorectal cancer) in several types of neurons [1–4], including cerebral cortical cultures prepared from embryonic rats [5, 6] and embryonic day (E) 12.5 mice [7]. This evidence concerns the gene NTN1 and colorectal cancer.
