Heymann et al. [33] describe a series of 8 patients with germline TP53 mutations who were treated for breast cancer between 1997 and 2007 from 47 documented Li–Fraumeni families; three underwent conservative breast surgery with post-operative radiotherapy, three had mastectomy and radiotherapy and two had mastectomy with no radiotherapy. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is breast carcinoma.
