To further define the mechanism by which Enterococcus increases liver disease, we generated Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2), or myeloid differentiation primary response 88 (MYD88)/TIR-domain-containing adapter-inducing interferon-β (TRIF; also known as TICAM1) bone-marrow chimeric mice using a combination of clodronate-mediated Kupffer cell depletion, irradiation, and bone-marrow transplantation. Here, MYD88 is linked to liver disorder.
