For individuals in the VLBW group versus the control group, HOMA parameters indicated increased insulin resistance by increased HOMA‐IR (1.61 ± 0.09 vs. 1.40 ± 0.08, P < 0.016) and reduced HOMA‐%S (71.6 ± 3.5 vs. 85.9 ± 4.1, P < 0.016), a measure of insulin sensitivity.
