Wnt1 blocks the differentiation and enhance the proliferation of PC12 cells by activating cyclin D1 (Issack and Ziff, 1998), the Cyclin D1 is also a direct target gene of the Wnt/β-catenin/LEF-1 pathway through a LEF-1 binding site in the Cyclin D1 promoter (Shtutman et al., 1999), Wnt pathway promotes oral squamous-cell carcinoma cell proliferation by negatively control the expression of the human homolog of the Drosophila headcase (HECA) and reduces the interaction of HECA with CDK2, CDK9, Cyclin A and Cyclin K (Dowejko et al., 2012) and so on. Here, HECA is linked to oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma.
