Prothrombin induced by vitamin K absence-I (PIVKA-II) is synthesized by the HCC-affected liver, and related to tumour size, tumour number, invasion, and metastasis [7], which sensitivity and specificity of 75.7% and 60.1%, respectively when AFP, alpha-fetoprotein variant (AFP-L3) and PIVKA-II were used jointly in the diagnosis [8].
