Consistent with previous findings, the results of the present study indicated that SOX7 deficiency significantly increased the level of nuclear β-catenin and its target gene (Cyclin D1 and c-Myc) expression, while SOX7 overexpression significantly decreased the level of these three proteins, showing a trend of inverse expression pattern between SOX7 and Wnt/β-catenin as well as its target genes in glioma. This evidence concerns the gene SOX7 and central nervous system cancer.
