Chromosomal translocations frequently found in BCP-ALL such as t(4;11) or t(12;21) producing the MLL-AF4 and ETV6-RUNX1 fusion proteins respectively, are not able on their own to fully recapitulate the human disease, suggesting that other critical events are required to lead to BCP-ALL [23–26], the deregulation of SOX7 expression could be one of these events. The gene discussed is KMT2A; the disease is acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
