We requested CPRD data from all patients who had been prescribed one of the following diabetes medications: metformin, sulfonylurea, dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4) inhibitor, glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP1-R) agonist, thiazolidinedione or sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, with drugs identified from the products file using British National Formulary (BNF) codes for non-insulin diabetes therapies and identifying further matches by searching both generic and trade names for these drugs. This evidence concerns the gene GLP1R and diabetes mellitus.
