Although target therapy against epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations and echinoderm microtubule-associated protein-like 4-anaplastic lymphoma kinase (EML4-ALK) rearrangements improved the prognosis in the last decade [6], mutations in EGFR are only present in 10–26% of NSCLC [7], and EML4-ALK rearrangements are only found in 4–5% of NSCLC [8]. Here, EML4 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
