CXCR5 and neoplasm: Although there have been reports on increased expression of CXCL13 (the only known ligand for CXCR5) in CRC, our data are in agreement with the study by Bindea et al. describing an immune evasive mechanism in CRC through which tumor CXCL13 production is downregulated (chromosomal deletion) and CXCR5+ lymphocytes hindered from being recruited to the tumor [69–71].
