In mammals, two independent endothelin receptors, EDNRA and EDNRB (Thaete et al., 2007), have been linked to high-altitude pulmonary edemas (Sharma, Singh & Sarkar, 2014), as well as hypertension, cardiac hypertrophy, and coronary artery disease (Schneider, Boesen & Pollock, 2007). The gene discussed is EDNRB; the disease is coronary artery disorder.
