CSFV induces proinflammatory cytokines and tissue factor (TF) expression and inhibits apoptosis and interferon synthesis during the infection of porcine vascular ECs: The virus infection inhibited polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid [poly(I:C)]-induced α/β IFN (type I IFN) synthesis and there was a 100-fold increased capacity to resist apoptosis induced by poly(I:C) when the porcine kidney cell line SK-6 was infected with CSFV (Pasyk & Jakobczak, 2004).
