One subtle difference was that the total CPM of genes encoding SNARE proteins was two-fold higher during tuber infection by Py. ultimum compared to Ph. infestans. While some genes encoding SNARE or Rab GTPases in Ph. infestans were up-regulated during infection (e.g. PITG_01853, 10,870, 18,718), their expression was not high enough to cause a major change in aggregate CPM. This evidence concerns the gene RAB6A and infection.
