Furthermore, it was shown that elevated Slug protein caused by SIRT2 overexpression corresponded to stronger repression of the Slug transcriptional targets, epithelial cell adhesion molecule, and E‐cadherin, implying that SIRT2 might regulate EMT‐related phenotypes such as aggressiveness and invasion specifically in triple‐negative basal‐like breast cancer (Zhou et al., 2016a).
