Even though the prevalence of IDH mutations are very high in gliomas, mIDH1 or mIDH2 low-grade glioma cell lines have been difficult to generate (the TS603 oligodendroglioma harbors an IDH1 R132H mutation and grows as neurospheres rather than monolayer)1,18, leading to the use of a variety of transfected GBM cell lines. The gene discussed is IDH1; the disease is oligodendroglioma.
