With the aim to better understand GBA expression regulation at the post-transcriptional level, we explored the possible existence of a ceRNA-based network involving GBA and GBAP1. Here, we demonstrated that GBAP1 may function as a ceRNA to regulate GBA expression by sponging miR-22-3p, thus revealing a novel regulatory circuit that can play a role in the pathogenesis of PD. This evidence concerns the gene GBA1 and Parkinson disease.
