CST3 and leishmaniasis: The clinical pathology profile in the dogs of this study (proteinuria, azotemia, increased urine ferritin) points to a predominance of glomerular dysfunction, although some tubular dysfunction was also present as evidenced by the increase in urinary cystatin C. The prevalence of renal damage in CanL is very high and it is estimated that about 50% of dogs with leishmaniasis show changes in clinical pathology characteristic of renal disease.
