In contrast to the data presented here, serum levels of TRANCE have previously been reported to not be different in IBD patients compared with controls.[31, 32] To our knowledge, OSM, an activator of the JAK/STAT pathway, has been studied in colonic biopsies of IBD patients only, where upregulation was reported.[33] In addition, our results also show reduction of TNFSF14 and TGF-alpha in both CD and UC. This evidence concerns the gene TNFSF14 and inflammatory bowel disease.
