Overexpression or hyperphosphorylation of PRAS40 has been reported in a variety of tumors including melanoma, prostate cancer, gastric cancer, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and so on [15–18], and plays a critical role in cell survival in different species [5, 15, 19–21]. The gene discussed is AKT1S1; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
