The development of synthetic analogs of hypothalamic hormones such as Luteinizing Hormone Releasing Hormone (LHRH; also called Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone, or GnRH) [17], Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH) [18] and others has led to innovative experimental findings and to various clinical applications such as the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia [19] and prostate cancer [20, 21]. The gene discussed is GNRH1; the disease is prostate cancer.
