TNC and neuromyelitis optica: Collagen-XII contains several domains, specifically one collagenous domain that interacts with collagen-I and another large N-terminal globular domain that has been shown to interact with molecules, such as tenascin, which regulate cellular interaction with the surrounding pericellular matrix, influencing osteoblast adhesion and differentiation, and which was found here to be significantly upregulated in NMO-EVs56.
