The thymus of MG patients is characterized by increased expression of toll-like receptors (TLRs) involved in pathogen recognition, such as TLR3, TLR4, TLR7, and TLR9, but also by increased expression of IFN-β and numerous IFN-induced genes (17, 18, 23–26). The gene discussed is IFNB1; the disease is myasthenia gravis.
