Some proteins, including the gastric cancer stem cell biomarker CD24 [16], leucine-rich-repeat-containing G-protein-coupled receptor 5 (LGR5) [16, 17] and the cell proliferation biomarker Ki67 [18], have been reported to be expressed in GIM tissues, and they are postulated to be involved in the progression from GIM to GC [15, 19, 20]. This evidence concerns the gene CD24 and gastric cancer.
