Interestingly, pretreatment with sirtinol (20 μM) or CC (1 μM, an inhibitor of AMPK) strongly prevented the RSV-induced augmentation of the expressions of MDC, FcεRII, MrC1, and IL-10 mRNAs, indicating that SIRT1/AMPKα signaling pathway leads to anti-inflammatory function of macrophages in RA. The gene discussed is SIRT1; the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.
