Previous reports demonstrated that IL-17A activated both STAT1 and STAT3 in human monocytic leukemia cells and keratinocytes and human keratinocytes24,25, implying that IL-17A can induce M1 and M2 macrophage-related proteins via direct activation of both STAT1 and STAT3 in the skin of mouse. The gene discussed is STAT1; the disease is monocytic leukemia.
