By re-analysis of nuclear run-on data (GRO-seq) from HCT116 colon cancer cells treated with the p53-activating agent Nutlin-3 (ref. 55), we found that lncRNAs negatively associated with TP53 mutations in our screen typically showed reduced transcription in TP53 null compared with wild type cells (Supplementary Fig. 7), supporting the overall validity of the results. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is colonic neoplasm.
