SYK and hepatocellular carcinoma: Interestingly, the prognostic role of the splice variants of SYK was investigated by Hong et al, who showed that patients with a SYK(S)-positive HCC were more likely to develop early and late recurrence (80.3% vs 53.8% P = 0.001 and 66.7% vs 16.7%; P = 0.002 respectively) compared to patients with a SYK(S)-negative HCC, which supports the findings in the MATCH cohort.
