The FDA first approved the combination of trametinib and dabrafenib for patients with unresectable or metastatic melanoma with BRAF V600E or V600K mutations in January 2014, based on the results of median PFS extended from 8.8 months to 11.0 months when compared with dabrafenib monotherapy in a multi-center phase 3 trial [31,32]. This evidence concerns the gene BRAF and metastatic melanoma.
