In bivariate analyses, viral suppression was significantly associated with older age, duration on ART, higher CD4 count, better family socio-economic status, living with parents, parental education, having parents as main caregivers, no experience of negative attitude from healthcare providers, being aware that they were receiving ART, knowing that HIV is transmitted through unprotected sex with people living with HIV, understanding that there is no cure for AIDS, receiving treatment from a paediatric clinic and type of ART (first or second line).
