Previously, the inhibition of IL-6 signaling has been reported to attenuate tumorigenicity—especially in KRAS-driven cancers28,37,42,43—and IL-6 knockdown in A549 cells was shown to strengthen the chemosensitivity to cisplatin in vivo29, and our current data illuminate the potential of targeting IL-6 in the context of lung cancer stem cells. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and lung carcinoma.
