TLR4 and breast carcinoma: Yang et al. (2010) reported that ten TLRs were expressed in MDA-MB-231 cells, TLR4 expression was the highest among all the TLRs, and they also demonstrated that knockdown of TLR4 could actively inhibit proliferation and survival of breast cancer cells and RNAi-directed targeting of TLR4 may be a beneficial strategy for breast cancer therapy [27].
