Human glioma stem-like cells designated U87 GSLCs express increased levels of the mRNAs and proteins of the stem cell markers ALDH1 and CD133, decreased levels of the astrocyte differentiation marker glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) (Pang et al. 2017) and cell cycle protein cyclin D1, compared with the parental cells U87 (Table 1) (Zhang et al. 2015).
