An association of POPDC1 with other forms of cardiac arrhythmia was recently predicted by two studies using bioinformatics, which suggests that POPDC1 might act as a hub gene for atrial fibrillation (AF) [66] and as a novel determinant of the length of the QT interval, which is the time between the start of depolarisation and the end of repolarisation of the ventricular chambers [67]. This evidence concerns the gene POPDC1 and atrial fibrillation.
