Western blotting revealed that FASN protein expression was elevated in CRC tissues, while real-time PCR and Western blotting indicated that FABP1, CD36 and Caveolin-1 mRNA and protein levels were reduced in CRC (Figure 1B, 1C), potentially due to the reduced availability of exogenous lipids for the tumor.
