Then, we used WT and S100A4−/− colons to detect the expression of genes encoding adhesion molecules, which are important for adhesion, such as integrin β-1, ICAM-1, EpCAM and MadCAM after infection with C. rodentium. We found that the expression of integrin β-1 in WT mice was significantly higher than S100A4−/− mice on day 7 (P < 0.01) (Fig. 6B). The gene discussed is ICAM1; the disease is infection.
