Ginger extract has been shown to reduce COX-2 gene expression in another COX-2 expressing CRC cell line—HT29 [65] and studies indicate that it is its main active phenolic constituents, gingerols, shogaol, and paradols that possess anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic properties against a range of cancer, including CRC, cells [66,67,68]. This evidence concerns the gene PTGS2 and cancer.
