Many reports have confirmed that overexpression of bFGF paralleled with the growth of proliferating hemangiomas, suggesting that the bFGF/FGFR1 signaling pathway is not only involved in hemangioma formation but is also closely related to the proliferation and involution of hemangiomas and can be used as the primary indicator of vascular tumor growth16–18. This evidence concerns the gene FGF2 and vascular neoplasm.
