The lack of impact of reduced EAAT3 levels (and plausibly its function) might indicate that protein expression from a single allele copy would suffice to account for EAAT3 activity, without altering the parameters determined here, i.e. tissue neurotransmitter system, anxiety-like and compulsive-like behavior, and amphetamine-induced locomotion. This evidence concerns the gene SLC1A1 and Anxiety.
